Along with nearly every neighborhood in DC, Columbia Heights is enjoying a steady rise in home prices, thanks to the District’s continued economic growth, CH’s terrific location and the improved restaurant scene in nearby Petworth and Logan Circle communities. Anchored by Target, the Columbia Heights Metro station and several popular bars and cafes, this uptown area continues to attract residents looking for convenience and value.
The Faulkner Team recently represented a buyer in this property on Meridian Place, NW. The draw for our buyer was its walkability (Walk Score = 93), proximity to mass transit and collection of fun places to meet friends. It also helped that the 2 BR condo was recently renovated and came with one parking space.
Housing trends in Columbia Heights are also steady. According to my research, which incorporates stats from MRIS, Redfin and other sources, the Median Sold price in May of this year is $630,000, a 5% increase year-over- year. Median price per square foot is $530, nearly flat compared to the same period last year. And median Days on Market is 7, a very strong score for sellers.
